How long should the program be?
One folded card, four sides at most. A program longer than the attention it will get defeats the purpose.
How many copies do I need?
One per guest for a seated event, since people read them during the meal.
What paper should I use?
200 to 250 gsm for folded programs, which folds cleanly without cracking.
How do I handle speeches respectfully?
Ask speakers in advance, give each a time limit, and put the order in writing. Unplanned open-floor tributes at a seventieth can run very long.
Should I include a memorial line?
If the family wants one, a short line remembering a spouse or sibling who has died is common and usually welcome. Ask first.
What size should the text be?
Twelve point minimum on programs and menus, larger on signs.
