Disco is mirror balls, sequins, seventies type and a palette of hot pink, orange, purple and gold. It is loud on purpose, and it has become the default theme for bachelorettes, thirtieth birthdays and New Year parties that want to feel like an event rather than a dinner.

The printing warning
Disco designs are the most expensive on this site to print at home. Full-bleed dark backgrounds with saturated colour will drain an ink cartridge in about thirty invitations, and cheap inkjets often band across large dark areas.
For anything more than a handful of copies, send the file to a print shop. Twenty dollars of professional printing will look better and cost less than the ink.

What colours work best?
Hot pink with orange and purple, or black with gold and silver for a more grown-up version.
Can I tone it down for an older crowd?
Yes. Black and gold with a mirror ball and a clean serif keeps the reference without the seventies typography.
What paper should I use?
Smooth white 300 gsm. Pearlescent stock suits the theme and adds shine that ink cannot.
Why is my black printing grey or streaky?
Home inkjets struggle with large solid dark areas. Set the printer to Best quality on the correct paper type, or use a print shop.
Does disco work for a baby shower?
Rarely as a whole theme, though a disco ball on a mama-to-be sign has become a common single touch at showers otherwise styled differently.
