Printable Wedding Thank You Cards

Thank you cards are the last job of the wedding and the one couples most often let slide. Having them printed and waiting when you get back from honeymoon makes the difference between writing them and not.

These templates let you print a full set at once, with a photo on the front if you want, and a blank inside for the handwritten part that actually matters.

What to write in a wedding thank you card

Four lines does it. Name the gift specifically, say something about how you will use it, mention their presence at the wedding, and sign off from both of you.

“Thank you so much for the roasting dish. We have already used it twice and it has made us feel disturbingly grown up. It meant a lot to have you both there on the day. Love, Anna and Tom.”

For guests who gave money, name the thing you are putting it towards rather than the amount. Our full guide to wedding thank you card wording covers group gifts, guests who could not attend, and your wedding party.

Thank you card questions

How long do we have to send them?

Three months after the wedding is the commonly cited window. In practice people are forgiving, especially for a honeymoon, but past six months the note starts to feel like an apology.

Do we need to thank everyone?

Everyone who gave a gift or money, everyone who travelled a long way, and anyone who took on a job on the day. Guests who simply attended do not strictly need one, though a short note is a kind touch.

Can we put a wedding photo on the front?

Yes, and most couples do. Upload the photo in Canva and drop it into the image frame. It doubles as a keepsake people keep on the fridge.

What size should we print?

5x7 folded or A6 folded are both standard and fit common envelopes. Folded gives you a blank inside for handwriting.

How many should we print?

One per household on your guest list, plus fifteen percent. There are always people who send something without attending.

Should both of us write them?

Splitting the list is the only realistic way to finish. Sign both names regardless of who wrote it.
