The leprechaun visit
The standard version: children build a trap the night before, and in the morning it has been sprung and escaped, leaving green footprints, a mess, some chocolate coins and a note. The note is the part worth printing, since a leprechaun with legible handwriting undoes the whole thing — the templates use a suitably scruffy hand.

Short, mischievous, and slightly badly spelled. Mention the trap, take credit for the mess, leave something behind, and promise to return next year.

Roughly four to nine. Older than that and children have usually worked it out, though some choose to play along for the chocolate.
