Printable Baby Shower Bingo
Baby shower bingo is the game that gets played during present opening, which is otherwise the slowest part of the afternoon. Guests fill in a card with gifts they think will be opened, and mark them off as they appear. It turns twenty minutes of watching someone unwrap things into something everyone is paying attention to.
How to play
- Hand each guest a blank bingo card and a pen as they arrive.
- They fill in each square with a gift they think the parents will receive: babygrow, blanket, bottles, nappies, teddy, monitor.
- During present opening, guests mark off any square that matches a gift being unwrapped.
- First to a full line shouts bingo. Full card for a second prize if you want the game to last the whole opening.
Blank or pre-filled?
Blank cards are better. Guests writing their own guesses makes the game personal and means no two cards match, which avoids the situation where six people win simultaneously. Pre-filled cards are quicker to set up and work for a large shower where you do not want to spend ten minutes on instructions.
Baby shower bingo questions
How many squares should a card have?
Five by five with a free centre square is the standard, and it lasts roughly as long as present opening. Four by four is better for a small shower with fewer gifts.
What if two people get bingo at once?
Have two small prizes, or make the tiebreaker the closest guess at the baby's birth weight.
How many cards should I print?
One per guest plus five spares, on ordinary printer paper. Provide pens; people never have one.
Can I change the pre-filled squares?
Yes. Every square is an editable text box in Canva, so you can tailor them to what is actually on the registry.
Does it work for a virtual shower?
Yes, and it is one of the better games on video. Send the PDF beforehand and let guests fill it in on screen.
