Printable Birthday Party Games
The middle of a birthday party is where things fall apart. Guests have arrived, the food is not ready, and there is an hour to fill. Printable games are the cheapest insurance against that hour.
Every sheet is editable in Canva, so you can put the birthday person's name on it and rewrite questions to suit the age group.
Games for kids
- Scavenger hunt sheets — indoor and outdoor versions
- Party bingo and word searches for arrivals, while guests trickle in
- Coloring and activity pages for younger children or quieter moments
- Pin the tail templates in various themes
Games for adults
- How well do you know the birthday person — works at any milestone
- Year you were born trivia — news, music and prices from the birth year
- Guess the baby photo — guests match childhood photos to guests
- Would you rather and emoji pictionary
- Advice and memories cards — a keepsake for a big milestone
How many games to plan
Three for a two hour party. For children under six, shorter games and more of them; attention spans run about ten minutes. For adults, one or two is plenty — forcing games on a room that would rather talk is worse than having none.
Birthday game questions
What games work for a large group of children?
Scavenger hunts and bingo. Both scale to any number, need no equipment, and can be stopped instantly.
What prizes should I give at a kids' party?
Something every child gets, ideally. Prizes that only go to winners produce tears at any party with more than six children under eight.
Can I use these for a virtual birthday?
Yes. Send the PDF beforehand. Trivia, bingo and emoji games work well on video.
Can I change the questions?
Yes. Every question is an editable text box in Canva.
What paper should I print games on?
Standard printer paper. Save cardstock for keepsake cards people will hold onto.
