Printable Housewarming Party Templates
A housewarming is the most relaxed party on this site and needs the least stationery. An invitation, a few signs, and something to stop the evening becoming a series of house tours in groups of three.
All editable in Canva.
What's in this collection
- Housewarming invitations with space for the new address
- New address announcement cards for people who are not invited but should know
- Welcome signs and room signs for a self-guided tour
- Food and drinks table signs
- Guest book and message cards
- House rules and wifi signs
The self-guided tour
Small numbered signs in each room mean guests can wander at their own pace instead of you giving the same tour six times. It sounds fussy and it saves your entire evening.
Address announcement cards
Worth doing separately from the invitation. Plenty of people need your new address who are not coming to the party, and a card sent to them avoids the awkwardness of an invitation they cannot accept.
Housewarming questions
How long after moving should I have a housewarming?
One to three months. Long enough to unpack, soon enough that it still counts as new.
When should invitations go out?
Two to three weeks ahead. Housewarmings are informal and people do not need much notice.
Should I ask for no gifts?
If you would rather not receive things, say so on the invitation. Otherwise expect plants, candles and bottles, which is what people bring.
What time should it start?
An open window works better than a fixed start, such as two until six with people arriving when they like. It suits the informality and avoids everyone arriving at once.
Do I need food?
Something to graze on rather than a meal. A drop-in party where guests have to sit down to eat gets complicated fast.
