Printable Wedding Table Numbers
Table numbers are small but they are the thing guests look for the moment they walk into a reception room. Printing your own means you can match them to the rest of your stationery instead of using whatever the venue keeps in a cupboard.

Numbers or names?
Numbers are functional and guests find their table faster. Names — places you have travelled, songs, favourite books — are more personal but need a key on the escort card display, or people wander. If you use names, keep them short and put them in large type.
One practical note: many venues and some cultures consider table 1 to be the head table. Check with your venue before numbering, or start at 2 if it makes anyone uneasy.
Sizes and display
- 5x7 — the standard, sits in a frame or a holder
- 4x6 — cheaper to frame, fine for smaller tables
- Double sided — worth doing for round tables, so guests approaching from either side can read it
Table number questions
How many table numbers do I need?
One per table, plus two or three spares in case the layout changes. Double sided means printing two per table.
What size should they be?
5x7 in a frame is the most common. Anything smaller than 4x6 becomes hard to read from across a room.
What paper should I use?
250 to 300 gsm cardstock. If they are going in frames, the weight matters less.
Do I need holders?
Cheap standing photo frames work perfectly and can be picked up in bulk. Acrylic holders are the alternative if you want the design to float.
Should the numbers be sequential around the room?
Yes, and it matters more than people think. Random numbering means guests circle the room reading every table.
Can I match them to my menus and place cards?
Yes. Most designs come as part of a set built on the same fonts and colours.
