Printable Rehearsal Dinner Templates

The rehearsal dinner is smaller than the wedding and, for many couples, the part they actually enjoy most. It is also the event that gets planned last and least, which is exactly why having the stationery ready as templates helps.

All editable in Canva.

What's in this collection

  • Rehearsal dinner invitations — sent separately from the wedding invitation
  • Menus and place cards for the dinner
  • Welcome signs and table signs
  • Seating charts for larger dinners
  • Toast order cards — so speeches happen in a planned sequence
  • Thank you cards for the wedding party

The toast order card is worth printing

Rehearsal dinners are where most of the speeches happen. Writing the running order on a card and handing it to whoever is compering prevents the two most common problems: three people speaking in a row, and someone being forgotten entirely.

Rehearsal dinner questions

Who is invited to the rehearsal dinner?

The wedding party and their partners, immediate family, the officiant, and often anyone who has travelled a long way. Typically twenty to forty people.

Who hosts it?

Traditionally the groom's parents. Increasingly the couple, or the two families splitting it.

When should invitations go out?

Four to six weeks before, separately from the wedding invitation so nobody who is not invited sees it.

Does it have to be a dinner?

No. Plenty of couples do a lunch, a barbecue or drinks. The point is the smaller group, not the format.

Do we need place cards?

For more than about sixteen people, yes. Below that, people sort themselves out fine.

Can we match it to the wedding stationery?

Yes, and it looks deliberate if you do. Use the same fonts and colours in a slightly more relaxed layout.
