Printable Wedding Signs
Signage is what stops guests standing in a doorway wondering where to go. A wedding needs more of it than most couples expect: where the ceremony is, where to sit, where the cards go, where the bar is, what time the bus leaves.
All editable in Canva, built so one design family covers the whole day.
Signs most weddings need
- Welcome sign at the entrance
- Ceremony seating sign — "pick a seat, not a side" or traditional sides
- Order of the day — a timeline board so nobody asks when dinner is
- Card and gifts sign for the gift table
- Bar and drinks signs, including signature cocktail signs
- Guest book sign
- Unplugged ceremony sign — asking guests to put phones away
- Directional signs for the ceremony, reception and parking
The unplugged sign is worth it
Photographers raise this constantly. A row of guests holding phones in the aisle ruins the processional shots, and the photos those guests take are worse than the ones they are blocking. One sign at the entrance plus a line from the officiant handles it.
Wedding sign questions
How many signs do we need?
Five to eight for most weddings. Welcome, seating, order of the day, cards and gifts, bar, guest book. Add directional signs if the venue is large or spread out.
What sizes should we print?
18x24 or 24x36 for the welcome sign. 11x14 or 16x20 for order of the day and seating. 5x7 or 8x10 for table-level signs like the bar and guest book.
Where should we print them?
Small signs at home on 250 gsm cardstock. Anything above A4 at a print shop, on foam board if it stands on an easel — particularly outdoors, where paper warps.
Can we print on acrylic or mirror instead?
Yes. Many print shops will print your PDF directly onto acrylic. The file is the same; you are only choosing a different surface.
When should we print?
One to two weeks before, apart from anything listing final numbers or the seating plan, which waits until the week of.
Can we match the signs to our invitations?
Yes, and it makes the biggest visual difference of anything on this list. Duplicate the invitation in Canva and rebuild each sign from it.
