Printable Bridal Shower Invitations
Bridal shower invitations set expectations for the whole event: how dressy it is, whether there is a theme, and what guests should bring. Getting the details right on the card saves you answering the same questions by text for three weeks.
All editable in Canva. Add the bride's name, the date, the venue and the registry details, then print or send digitally.
What to include
- The bride's name, and the groom or partner's if it is a couples shower
- Date, start time and end time
- Venue name and full address
- Host name, so guests know who is asking
- RSVP contact and deadline
- Registry information, or a note about a gift theme
- Dress code if there is one
Registry wording
Mentioning a registry on a shower invitation is accepted, unlike on a wedding invitation where it is still considered poor form by some. Keep it to one line at the bottom, or point to the wedding website.
Bridal shower invitation questions
When should bridal shower invitations go out?
Four to six weeks before. Earlier if guests are travelling or if it falls near a holiday.
Who should be invited?
Only people who are also invited to the wedding. This is the one rule almost everyone agrees on, and breaking it causes genuine awkwardness.
Should I include an end time?
Yes. Showers run long without one, and guests appreciate knowing whether to eat beforehand.
What size are the invitations?
5x7 inches, fitting an A7 envelope. Some designs also come at 4x6, which posts more cheaply.
Can I send them digitally?
Yes. Export as JPG and send by message or email. For a shower where most guests are close friends, digital is completely normal now.
How do I word a couples shower invitation?
Name both partners and make it explicit that partners are invited — "join us for a couples shower honouring Anna and Tom" leaves no room for confusion.
