Coquette Party Printables

Coquette is bows, ribbon, pearls, lace, blush pink and cream, with a slightly nostalgic, romantic edge. It came out of social media and has become one of the most requested looks for bridal showers, bachelorettes and teenage birthdays.

What makes it coquette rather than just pink

  • Bows, used repeatedly and at different sizes
  • Ribbon and lace edges
  • Pearls and small florals, particularly roses
  • Blush, cream, butter yellow and soft red
  • Delicate serif and italic type, never bold sans

The bow is the load-bearing element. A blush pink card with no bow reads as generic; add one and it reads as coquette immediately.

Where it works

Bridal showers, bachelorette parties, Galentine's, sixteenth and eighteenth birthdays, baby showers for girls, and afternoon tea parties.

Carrying it beyond the paper

The theme is easy and cheap to extend physically, which is part of why it took off. Ribbon tied round napkins, bows on chair backs, a bow on the cake stand. None of it costs much and it makes the printed pieces look like part of a scheme.

Coquette theme questions

What colours count as coquette?

Blush and baby pink as the base, with cream, butter yellow, soft red and white. Avoid anything neon or cool-toned.

Is it only for young guests?

It skews young, but the more restrained version, cream with a single blush bow, works at a bridal shower of any age.

What paper should I use?

Cream or soft white matte cardstock. Bright white makes the blush tones look slightly cold.

Will pale pinks print accurately?

They tend to print lighter than they look on screen, sometimes almost white. Test one copy and increase the saturation slightly in Canva if needed.

Can I combine coquette with floral?

Yes. Small roses with bows is the most common version of the theme.
