Printable Birthday Signs
Signs do the quiet work at a party. They tell people where the drinks are, stop three separate guests asking where to put presents, and make a food table look deliberate rather than assembled.
All editable in Canva, so a set bought for a fifth birthday works for a fiftieth by changing the number and the colours.
Signs in this collection
- Happy birthday signs for the door or the wall behind the cake
- Welcome signs with the name and age
- Food and drinks table signs, including donut walls and candy bars
- Gift table and card box signs
- Photo booth and hashtag signs
- Age milestone signs for the cake table backdrop
Sizes that work
8x10 in a frame for table signs. 11x14 or 16x20 for a welcome sign at the door. 18x24 and up for anything acting as a backdrop, printed at a shop on foam board.
A cheap frame from a supermarket makes an A4 print look considerably more expensive than it is. Buy three or four the same and use them across the food table.
Birthday sign questions
What size should a birthday welcome sign be?
16x20 or 18x24 for a floor easel. 11x14 works on a table or sideboard.
Can I print signs at home?
Up to A4 or letter, yes, on 250 gsm matte cardstock. Larger than that, use a print shop — tiling a poster across four sheets never looks right.
How do I make signs stand up?
Picture frames for small signs, a tabletop easel for medium, a floor easel plus foam board for large. Foam board is the part people skip and then regret when the sign curls.
Can I match my signs to the invitation?
Yes. Most designs come as sets, or you can duplicate the invitation in Canva and rebuild the sign with the same fonts and colours.
What should a food table sign say?
Short and functional beats clever. "Treats", "Drinks", "Help yourself". Anything longer than three words does not get read.
