Printable Wedding Games & Reception Activities

There is a long gap at most weddings between the ceremony and the first dance. Photos are being taken, guests are holding a drink and talking to people they half know. Table games fill it without anyone having to organise anything on the day.

All editable in Canva, so you can add your names, adjust the questions, and match the design to your table styling.

Games and activities

  • Wedding I spy — a photo hunt list for guests with phones, which also gets you hundreds of candid shots
  • How well do you know the couple — a table quiz that gets people talking
  • Advice for the newlyweds — cards guests fill in, collected in a box
  • Guest book alternatives — wish cards, thumbprint trees, message cards
  • Wedding bingo and table trivia
  • Date night jar cards — guests suggest a date, the couple gets a year of ideas
  • Kids activity packs — the single most appreciated thing you can put on a table with children at it

Where to put them

One game per table works better than a stack of five. Put the quiz on the table during the meal, the advice cards near the guest book, and the kids packs on the children's table with a small pack of crayons.

Wedding game questions

Do wedding games feel forced?

Anything requiring guests to stand up and perform can. Table-based games that people can ignore if they want to do not. Stick to the second kind unless you know your crowd well.

How many copies should I print?

One per guest for individual games like I spy and advice cards. One or two per table for quizzes.

What works for children at a wedding?

An activity pack with a colouring page, a word search and a small scavenger hunt, plus crayons. It buys the parents an hour and they will remember it.

What paper should I use?

Printer paper for games guests fill in and hand back. Cardstock for advice cards and wish cards, since those become keepsakes.

Can I match these to my invitations?

Yes. Duplicate your invitation in Canva and rebuild the game sheet with the same fonts and colours.
