Safari is the most used baby shower theme after floral, and it holds up for first and second birthdays too. Giraffes, elephants, lions and zebras in soft greens and warm neutrals, with palm leaves and acacia trees.

Safari, jungle, or zoo?
Three versions that photograph differently.
Safari is the muted one: sage, khaki, cream and terracotta, with illustrated animals in soft tones. This is the version that dominates baby showers.
Jungle is greener and denser: monstera and palm leaves, brighter greens, more foliage than animals. Suits summer parties.
Zoo is the children's version: bright primary colors, cartoon animals, bold outlines. Suits second and third birthdays where the child has an opinion.

Is safari gender neutral?
In the sage and khaki palette, yes, and that is most of its appeal. Adding blush or blue shifts it, so keep to greens and neutrals if you want it to stay neutral.
What colors work?
Sage, olive, khaki, cream, terracotta and warm brown. Avoid bright greens, which push it towards jungle.
What paper should I use?
Cream or natural matte cardstock. Bright white makes the muted palette look washed out.
Will the animals print well?
Illustrated animals with clean outlines print reliably at home. Watercolor animals need matte paper and Best quality print mode to hold their edges.
Can I use it for a first birthday after using it at the shower?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Edit the wording in Canva and the same design family carries across both events.
