Printable Thanksgiving Templates

Thanksgiving is a table-centred holiday, which means the printables that matter are the ones that go on it: place cards, menus, and something for guests to write on. There is also a long gap between arriving and eating that games are useful for.

All editable in Canva.

What's in this collection

  • Thanksgiving games — trivia, bingo, would you rather, table conversation cards
  • Place cards and menus for the table
  • Thankful cards and gratitude trees — guests write what they are grateful for
  • Food labels and buffet signs
  • Kids activity packs and colouring pages for the children's table
  • Friendsgiving invitations and dish sign-up sheets

The dish sign-up sheet

For a Friendsgiving or a potluck, print a sheet listing what is needed and let people claim a dish. It prevents the classic outcome of four desserts, no vegetables and nobody bringing bread.

Conversation cards

A card on each place setting with a question on it. It sounds twee and it works, particularly at tables where politics is best avoided and everyone knows it.

Thanksgiving printable questions

What games work at a Thanksgiving table?

Anything played sitting down. Trivia sheets, would you rather, and conversation cards. Nothing that requires people to move after that meal.

Do I need place cards for a family dinner?

For more than about ten people, yes. They also let you seat people deliberately, which at some family tables is the single most useful thing you can do.

What paper should I use?

250 gsm cardstock for place cards and menus so they stand up. Ordinary paper for games and activity sheets.

How do I run a gratitude tree?

Print leaf cards, put them out with pens near the door, and have guests write one thing and hang it on a branch in a vase. Children take to it more readily than adults.

Can I use these for a Friendsgiving?

Yes. The invitations and sign-up sheets are built for it, and the rest works either way.
