Printable Gift Tags & Favor Tags

Tags are the cheapest upgrade available to anything you are giving away. A jar of sweets with a printed tag looks planned; the same jar without one looks like a jar of sweets. They cost the price of a sheet of cardstock and a length of twine.

All editable in Canva, printed many to a sheet.

What's in this collection

  • Christmas gift tags — the highest-volume use, and cheaper than shop-bought by a wide margin
  • Party favor tags for baby showers, birthdays and weddings
  • Thank you tags with names and dates
  • Wedding favour tags and welcome bag tags
  • Seed packet and plant tags
  • Bag toppers — fold over a sealed bag and staple
  • Round, scalloped and rectangular shapes

Favours people actually keep

Edible or usable. Chocolate, coffee, a small candle, seeds, hand cream. Anything decorative with a date printed on it goes in a drawer and then a bin, which is worth thinking about before ordering ninety of them.

Gift tag questions

What size should tags be?

Two inches across for round tags, or 2x3.5 inches for rectangular. Twelve to twenty fit on a sheet depending on size.

What paper should I use?

200 to 250 gsm cardstock. Thinner paper tears at the punch hole the moment you tie it.

How do I attach them?

A single hole punch and bakers twine or thin ribbon. If you are making more than twenty, a punch that cuts cardstock cleanly is worth the few dollars.

Can I add names?

Yes. Every tag has editable text, though at this size keep it to a few words.

Can tags double as place cards?

Yes. A tag tied to a napkin with a guest's name works as both, and saves printing two things.

How many should I print for Christmas?

Count your presents and add ten. It is always more than you think, and printing a second batch in the middle of wrapping is nobody's idea of a good evening.
