Printable Baptism & Christening Templates
Baptisms and christenings sit between a religious service and a family lunch, and the stationery usually needs to work for both. These templates are restrained enough for the church and warm enough for the meal afterwards.
All editable in Canva.
What's in this collection
- Baptism and christening invitations
- Order of service programs
- Welcome signs and table signs
- Menus and place cards for the lunch
- Guest book and blessing cards for guests to write in
- Favor tags and thank you cards
- Keepsake certificates and prayer cards
Blessing cards
Guests write a short blessing, prayer or wish for the child. Kept together, they become something to give the child later, and they suit the occasion better than a signed guest book. Print on cardstock so they survive being stored.
First communion and confirmation
The same templates cover both, with the wording changed in Canva. Communion invitations tend to be sent for a spring group celebration, so send early if several families are coordinating dates.
Baptism and christening questions
When should invitations go out?
Four to six weeks ahead. Longer if godparents are travelling from abroad.
What goes in an order of service?
Hymns with the words, readings with the reader's name, the order of the rite, and the names of the godparents. Check the exact order with your church rather than assuming, as it varies.
What paper should I use?
Cream or ivory, 250 gsm for cards and 200 gsm for folded programs so they fold without cracking.
How many programs do I need?
One per two guests for a church service, since people share. Round up.
Are the templates denomination specific?
No. Everything is editable text, so you can adjust the wording and the order to match your own service.
