A diaper raffle is the easiest way to make sure new parents are not buying nappies for the first three months. Guests who bring a pack of diapers get a raffle ticket, and one ticket is drawn for a prize during the shower.
This collection covers both halves: the small ticket cards you tuck into the invitation envelopes, and the sign that explains the rules at the door.
How a diaper raffle works
- Include a raffle ticket with each invitation you send.
- Guests who bring diapers hand in their completed ticket on arrival.
- Put the tickets in a bowl and draw one during the shower.
- The winner gets a small prize; the parents get a nursery full of nappies.
Ask for sizes one to four rather than newborn. Babies grow out of newborn size in weeks, and most showers end up with a mountain of them.

How do I word a diaper raffle ticket?
Keep it short: explain that bringing a pack of diapers earns an entry, leave a line for the guest's name, and add a line for their guess at the birth date if you want a second game out of it.
What size should the tickets be?
Around 3.5x2 inches, the size of a business card. Several fit on one sheet and they slide into an invitation envelope without folding.
What prize should I offer?
Worth entering for but not extravagant. A candle, a bottle of wine, a coffee gift card, or a small gift basket.
Should I explain the raffle on a sign too?
Yes. Some guests will not have read the ticket properly, and a sign by the entrance with spare tickets catches them.
Does this work for a virtual shower?
Yes. Send the ticket as an image and ask guests to order diapers to the parents' address, then enter their name in a shared list.
What paper should I print tickets on?
200 to 250 gsm cardstock, so they survive being handled and put in a bowl.
