Printable Birthday Invitations and Birthday Templates to Edit in Canva
This is the full birthday range at Paper Goods Party: invitations for children and adults, plus a printable birthday newspaper that turns someone's year into a keepsake. Every design opens in Canva with a free account and downloads the moment you pay. Nothing is shipped, so a template bought at lunchtime can be printed or sent the same evening.
All text and colors are editable. Swap the name, the age and the palette, and the design fits the party you are actually throwing rather than the one on the sample.
Kids birthday invitations
The "6 7" seventh birthday series is the biggest group here, built around the meme every second grader is quoting. The boy designs come in Soccer, Race Car, Robot Toys, Graffiti, Blue Doodle and Retro Groovy. The girl designs are Pink Hearts, Pink Bow Coquette, Pink Candles, Butterfly Watercolor, Pink Stripe Hand Drawn Cake and Hot Pink Balloon. For summer there is a flamingo pool party and a water slide design. Browse them all in kids birthday printables.
First birthday designs
Two invitations are made for a first birthday. The Silly Goose design reads "one silly goose" over pink gingham, watercolor florals and balloons, which suits a family that does not take the day too seriously. Under the Sea uses soft watercolor ocean scenes with a dolphin and is one of the designs that comes with an e-vite version included, handy when half the guest list is grandparents and the other half lives on their phones.
Adult and milestone invitations
Four adult designs include both a printable and an e-vite: Elegant Burgundy, Minimalist 50th, Boho Rainbow in terracotta and botanicals, and the Cocktail Party Martini in simple line art. For a summer birthday by the water there is a black and white minimalist pool party invitation and an elegant flamingo version that also works for a bachelorette. See the grown-up range in adult birthday printables.
The printable birthday newspaper
The birthday newspaper is for the birthday itself rather than the invitation. Its front-page layout has room for a lead story, photos and short columns about the year, plus headlines from the day they were born. It works as a gift from parents or friends and is popular for sixteenth, eighteenth and twenty-first birthdays. Find it in the birthday newspaper template.
Printing at home
Invitations hold up best on 250 to 300 gsm cardstock, which most home inkjet printers will feed if you load one sheet at a time. Set the print dialog to actual size rather than fit to page so margins stay where the designer put them. If your printer struggles with heavy card, save the file as a PDF and take it to a local print shop, which is usually quick and inexpensive for a small run.
Sending it digitally
Any design can be exported from Canva as a JPG or PDF and dropped into a text thread, an email or the class group chat. The five designs marked with an e-vite simply give you a version already laid out for that. For a children's party, sending digitally reaches every parent at once. Print a handful of copies anyway for relatives who prefer something to stick on the fridge.
Birthday Printables questions
Do I need a paid Canva account?
No. A free Canva account is enough to open, edit and download every template. Our Canva editing guide walks through the first edit.
What do I receive after checkout?
An instant download: a PDF containing the link to your Canva template. Open the link, make a copy, and start editing.
Can I change the age on an invitation?
Yes. Every word, number and color is editable, so a seventh birthday design can carry a different age if your child is the one quoting the meme at eight.
Can I try the editing process before buying?
There is a free sample template you can open in Canva to see how the editing works before you buy a design.
