Printable Birthday Colouring Pages

Colouring pages are the most useful thing on a children's party table and the cheapest. Put them out with a pot of crayons before anyone arrives, and the first twenty minutes — the awkward stretch where children trickle in and parents hover — takes care of itself.

All editable in Canva, so you can add the birthday child's name and age.

What's in this collection

  • Birthday colouring sheets with the child's name and age
  • Colour-in banners — children colour the pennants, then you hang them
  • Activity packs combining colouring, mazes, word searches and spot the difference
  • Colour-in place mats for the food table
  • Birthday cards children can colour and give
  • Themed sheets — animals, space, dinosaurs, unicorns, vehicles

Age ranges

Simple shapes with thick outlines for two to four. More detail for five to seven. From about eight, mazes and word searches hold attention better than colouring alone. Most packs include a mix so one printout covers a sibling group.

Colouring page questions

How many should I print?

Two or three per child. They finish faster than you expect, and having a second sheet ready avoids a lull.

What paper should I use?

Ordinary printer paper. Cardstock only for place mats or anything being kept.

Crayons or felt tips?

Crayons. Felt tips bleed through onto tablecloths and end up on clothes, and somebody's parent will be quietly annoyed.

Can I add the child's name?

Yes. Every sheet has an editable text field for the name and age.

Do these work as a party bag filler?

Yes, and they are a good alternative to plastic toys. A folded activity pack and a small pack of crayons costs almost nothing and gets used.

Can I print them in black and white?

Yes, and you should. Colouring sheets are designed as outlines, so draft mode black and white printing works and saves a lot of ink.
